Where to watch the Oscars in Toronto
By Jeff Cottrill | toronto.com
With twice the usual number of best picture nominees, two suave, funny hosts and no tacky musical numbers, this year’s Academy Awards show promises to be the most exciting in years. Here’s a glance at some of the local spots where you and your fellow cineastes can cheer on Kathryn Bigelow (or boo James Cameron) on March 7.
Over in Etobicoke, Eden Trattoria is glossing it up for a swanky Oscar party -- and reservations are required. There will be a prix-fixe menu at $40 per person including a glass of Villa Sandi Prosecco, asparagus and parmesan risotto, a choice between a pan seared grouper or beef tenderloin, and more. The ceremony screens on seven TVs, and the restaurant will give prizes to the best-dressed attendees.
